In 1999 the last of the hockey games at John Abbott College, that were so successful for the three years that it was held, was played. The Mingo-McEwen Fund was looking for ways to continue to grow as a successful Charity raising funds for beneficiaries like the Montreal Children's Hospital, Centennial Regional High School and the Ste Anne's Veterans Hospital. Thus the golf tournament was brought into consideration and within just a few short months of the last hockey game, the first golf tournament was played at Golf Dorval on July 19, 1999. We were able to raise a little over $14,000 at this our first tournament. Since that first auspicious tournament in 1999 the Mingo-McEwen Fund has been able to raise over $500,000 in aid of our beneficiaries. This could not have been done without the generous contributions of many volunteers who have donated their time and skills to help out both on the day of the tournament and the organization prior to the actual tournament.
